56/365 library lady

Super Sister and I managed a little us time with Mum in Glasgow today. The dome on the Mitchell Library looked grand against the blue. But who is that woman and why is she there?

  1. "The original North Street building with its distinctive copper dome surmounted a bronze statue by Thomas Clapperton, entitled Literature, often referred to as Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom, opened in 1911"
